The operations were carried out under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ) Pratap Das, targeting key locations including Chirakhowa, Bangrichar, and Balughat. The police acted on a tip-off that helped them uncover illicit drug activity in the region.

The first raid took place in Chirakhowa village, where Romjan Ali (24) was apprehended by the Kalapani Outpost team. During the search, police found 11 vials containing suspected brown sugar weighing 12.48 grams, along with a Samsung mobile phone and Rs 485 in cash.
