Andhra Man Konduri Rajesh Arrested for Rs 54 Lakh Fake Medical Scam

Rajesh Posed as NRI Convenor to Defraud Victims of Rs54.34 Lakh

Konduri Rajesh, a 34-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh, has been arrested for running a scam in which he defrauded people of Rs54.34 lakh under the guise of offering fake medical help. Rajesh posed as the NRI Convenor of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), using a US-based WhatsApp number to communicate with victims across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

His modus operandi involved reaching out to individuals who were seeking help on social media, especially those using hashtags like . Rajesh contacted them, claiming he could provide financial aid for medical treatments. To make his fraudulent scheme more convincing, he sent fake receipts that appeared to confirm his support.

In addition to posing as the NRI Convenor, Rajesh also pretended to be a bank manager, demanding remittance charges from the victims to release the promised funds. His manipulation and deceit led him to successfully con numerous victims over an extended period.

The Andhra Pradesh Cyber Crime Department, after a year-long investigation, successfully arrested Rajesh in West Bengal. The scam spanned multiple states, with the fraudster facing nine cases, including two in Telangana. His arrest has brought an end to the elaborate scam that duped several vulnerable individuals.

The investigation continues as authorities look into the full extent of Rajesh’s fraudulent activities.
