BLOOMINGTON, Texas – Michael Dickinson, a 55-year-old man from Bloomington, was arrested on January 11 after he allegedly threatened a woman with a knife, prompting charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office, police were called to a disturbance at a residence where Dickinson had arrived intoxicated. The woman involved claimed that Dickinson became irate and belligerent, preventing her from leaving a room. He reportedly pulled out a knife, holding it at her and threatening to kill her. The woman feared for her life as Dickinson allegedly attempted to assault her. She was only able to escape after neighbors intervened. Dickinson, however, denied the allegations, claiming he had been lying down and unaware of any altercation.
He was arrested and taken to the Victoria County Jail.
In a separate case, Caleb Calderon, 23, of Houston, was arrested in Victoria on charges related to manufacturing and delivering controlled substances. Authorities discovered over 400 grams of pills, including a large amount of “Mexican Xanax,” during a search at a residence he was staying at. Calderon, who was chewing pills when arrested, also had a bag of marijuana on him. He is a convicted felon and was on parole at the time of his arrest.
