In Weston, West Virginia, law enforcement agencies conducted a significant drug bust last week, seizing over 1,000 suspected fentanyl and heroin stamps from a home. The operation, executed by the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, took place on Friday at a residence on Woodcrest Road.
During the search, authorities discovered a substantial amount of evidence linking the home to illegal drug distribution. Along with the drug stamps, approximately $1,000 in cash was also recovered. The U.S. Department of Justice notes that drug distributors often mark their bags with specific brand names or logos during packaging.
Two individuals, Cody Keesecker, 40, and Madison Townsend, 27, were arrested and charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Seven others were charged with drug conspiracy in connection with the operation. All suspects are being held at Central Regional Jail.
Sheriff Mickey Metz emphasized the ongoing challenges of drug distribution and highlighted the dedication of law enforcement agencies in combating these issues within the community. Additional investigations are expected as authorities work to uncover the full scope of the drug network.
