HILLSBORO, Mo. (First Alert 4) — A Jefferson County man has been charged with murder following the shooting death of his son on Christmas Eve.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office announced that 61-year-old Harold E. Luster, from High Ridge, has been charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 26-year-old Kevin M. Ward of St. Louis.
The incident occurred on the evening of December 24 at a residence located in the 6400 block of Highway PP. Authorities report that a disagreement between Luster and another person escalated, leading Luster to retrieve a firearm and shoot his son.
Luster is currently being held without bond in the Jefferson County Jail. The investigation remains ongoing, though court appearance details have not yet been released.
