RIDGEVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) – A couple has been arrested in connection to the shooting death of a man found inside a car last week in Berkeley County.
Alexis Dakota Davidson, 26, and Timothy John Creel, 26, both from Ridgeville, have been charged with murder. Davidson was taken into custody on January 10, and Creel was arrested on Thursday. The pair are accused of killing 36-year-old Jamal Edmonson of Walterboro.
The murder charges stem from an incident that occurred on the night of January 8 when deputies were called to Old Gilliard Road, near Miles Lane, following reports of a car veering off the side of the road. Upon arrival, officers discovered Edmonson, who had been shot multiple times and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis expressed his commitment to justice, stating, “The arrest of these two individuals is a reminder of our unwavering commitment to justice and public safety. Violence of this nature has no place in Berkeley County.”
Davidson and Creel were booked into the Hill-Finklea Detention Center, where they are being held without bond as the investigation continues.
