Baton Rouge, LA — Damond Reynard Lockett, a 51-year-old man from Baton Rouge, has been sentenced to nearly nine years in federal prison after being convicted on charges of drug possession and firearm violations.

U.S. District Judge Brian A. Jackson sentenced Lockett to 105 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute heroin and fentanyl, as well as possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Additionally, Lockett will serve four years of supervised release upon his release from prison and must forfeit the firearms involved.

The charges stem from a search warrant executed on May 6, 2020, at Lockett’s apartment, where detectives discovered over 100 grams of heroin and fentanyl in his bathroom, along with a loaded firearm in his bedroom closet.

Lockett was on supervised release from a 2015 conviction for drug distribution and conspiracy charges at the time of this offense. His sentencing was announced on January 14, 2024.
