James Hatchcock, 45, from New Jersey, has been sentenced to 68 months in prison for his involvement in drug distribution in Pollocksville. Hatchcock had pled guilty to charges of possessing a firearm in connection with a drug crime and possessing cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine with the intent to distribute.

According to a Department of Justice release, law enforcement began investigating possible drug activity in February 2023 on Nguyen Lane, a street in Pollocksville. From March 3 to April 20, 2023, law enforcement conducted seven controlled purchases through a confidential source (CS), where Hatchcock provided cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl. During many of these transactions, Hatchcock met with his supplier, co-defendant Robert Milton Green, to complete the deals.

After completing the controlled buy on April 20, 2023, law enforcement executed search warrants at both Hatchcock’s and Green’s homes. From Hatchcock’s residence, authorities seized drugs including 10 grams of crack cocaine, 84 grams of cocaine, 28 grams of methamphetamine, nine grams of fentanyl, 112 grams of marijuana, and multiple firearms. At Green’s residence, they found over 137 grams of crack cocaine, more than 500 grams of cocaine, methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin, along with significant amounts of cash.

Green, who was also involved in the distribution operation, was sentenced to 11 years on October 25, 2024, for his role in the trafficking of large quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.
