Nagpur Anti-Narcotics Cell Arrests Drug Peddler, Seizes 3.3 Kg of Marijuana

In a successful operation, the Anti-Narcotic Cell of the Nagpur Crime Branch apprehended Sayyed Jishaan Sayyed Rizwan Haider Rizvi, a drug peddler, on suspicion near Gram Panchayat Bhilgaon. The 24-year-old, a resident of Sailani Nagar, Juni Kamptee, was found to be in possession of 3.3 kg of marijuana (Ganja) valued at approximately Rs60,600.

The police team, led by PI Lalita Todase and API Manoj Ghurde, conducted a search of Sayyed Jishaan’s vehicle—a TVS Jupiter scooter—which had no registration number. During the search, they seized the marijuana, and the suspect was immediately arrested.

The police also confiscated the TVS Jupiter scooter worth Rs1 lakh, which was used in the transportation of the illegal drugs. A case has been registered against Sayyed Jishaan at Yashodhara Police Station under Sections 8(c), 20(b), and 2(b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

The arrest was made under the supervision of Additional CP (Crime) Sanjay Patil, DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknikar, and ACP (Crime) Dr. Abhijeet Patil, in the ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking in the city.
