LENOIR COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) – Jennifer Carolina Bell, 41, was arrested Thursday following a three-month-long investigation into methamphetamine distribution in Lenoir County.
The investigation led to warrants for Bell, charging her with four counts of trafficking methamphetamine and maintaining a vehicle or residence for a controlled substance. Bell was arrested by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes and Rapid Response team along with narcotics officers during a traffic stop on John Greene Smith Road in Lenoir County. Bell was a passenger in the vehicle during the stop, where officers gained probable cause to search the vehicle.
During the search, additional methamphetamine was discovered on Bell. She now faces additional charges including possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or distribute Schedule II drugs, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia. Bell was taken to the Lenoir County Jail, where she was given a $301,000 secured bond.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have praised the joint efforts of the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes team and narcotics officers in making the arrest.
