A day after the brutal murder of a 55-year-old woman in her Vidhyadhar Nagar home, Jaipur police arrested five individuals implicated in the cold-blooded crime. The murder of Saroj Bansal, which occurred in her house in C-Block, was identified as a planned robbery by the police.
SHO (Vidhyadhar Nagar) Rakesh Khyaliya confirmed that the arrested suspects were Gopal Sharma (45), Bajrang Lal (50), Din Mohammed (47), Lucky Mohammed (23), and Shahrukh Ansari (24). According to Khyaliya, Sharma, a coal shop owner, was familiar with the other accused due to their business dealings. Sharma, along with his associates Bajrang, a labor supplier, and Deen, who operated a bangle-making shop, were facing financial difficulties and hatched a plan to rob Bansal, whom Gopal knew personally as a family acquaintance.
The trio plotted the crime for nearly a year but decided to enlist Lucky and Shahrukh, two younger men, to execute the murder. On Thursday afternoon, when Bansal was alone at home, the two suspects entered, bound her, and suffocated her by stuffing cloth into her mouth, causing her death. They then ransacked the house, stealing approximately Rs2.5 lakh in cash and jewelry.
The police investigation led to the swift arrest of all five suspects, who are now charged in connection with the murder and robbery.
