A disturbing case of impersonation and fraud has emerged in the MIDC area of Mumbai, where two individuals, Komal Kadam and Gaurav Shah, allegedly posed as officials from ICICI Bank and conducted fake recruitment drives. The case was registered after a complaint from the bank’s manager, Mohammad Javed Khan, prompting the MIDC Police to launch a manhunt for the suspects.

According to the police, Kadam and Shah used fake identification cards and misrepresented themselves as bank officials. Between April 2024 and December 2024, the accused exploited the bank’s name and resources to deceive job seekers. They conducted fraudulent interviews and issued fake joining letters to victims, Mayank Barnwal and Sayali Jadhav.

The police have identified the accused as Komal Kadam and Gaurav Shah. The investigation is ongoing as authorities try to uncover the broader motive behind the fraud and determine if more individuals were targeted or if a larger network is involved.

The MIDC Police have urged the public to exercise caution and vigilance when engaging in employment-related matters to avoid falling victim to similar scams.
