SPOKANE, Wash. — John Eisenman, 63, and Brenda Cross, 57, a Spokane couple, are set to be sentenced on Thursday after they both pleaded guilty to the 2020 murder of Andrew Sorensen, their daughter’s 19-year-old boyfriend.

According to court documents, the couple admitted to committing first-degree murder in the death of Sorensen, whose body was discovered one year after the crime. The murder occurred in November 2020, when Sorensen was beaten, stabbed, and bound with duct tape inside Eisenman’s car.

The couple claimed that their motive for the brutal killing was revenge, alleging that Sorensen had been involved in sex trafficking their daughter. However, investigators found no evidence to support this accusation.

As part of a plea deal, Eisenman has agreed to serve 22 years in prison, while Cross is set to serve eight years for her role in the murder. The sentencing hearing will take place on Thursday.
