A 22-year-old man, Jaeden Pounds, has been arrested after authorities say he stabbed his mother in the face and neck in Memphis on December 30, 2024.
Around 1:30 p.m. on that day, deputies with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a stabbing in the 7500 block of Split Rail Cove in Southeast Shelby County. Upon arrival, they found the victim, a woman, suffering from severe stab wounds to her face and neck. She was promptly transported to Regional One Health for medical treatment.
The suspect, identified as the victim’s son, Jaeden Pounds, allegedly forced the woman out of her car before driving off with it. Authorities later located him at a home on Riverdale Road on Thursday, and he was arrested without incident.
Pounds now faces multiple charges, including Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Especially Aggravated Robbery, and Theft of Property valued at $1,000 or less.
