Two Sheffield residents, Benny Ray Bass, 54, and Kerri Elaine Giles, 48, were arrested Friday after a search warrant was executed at a home on the 800 block of SW 13th Avenue in Sheffield.

The Colbert County Sheriff’s Department, in cooperation with Sheffield Police, uncovered 40 grams of methamphetamine, a .22 caliber rifle, and $388 in cash. Both Bass and Giles were charged with drug trafficking and are currently being held without bond at the Colbert County Jail.

The investigation continues as authorities work to address the growing issue of drug trafficking in the area.
