A 36-year-old West Reading man, Eric Emilio Delacruz, was arrested Thursday after authorities uncovered significant quantities of drugs during a search of his home in the 300 block of Chestnut Street.
The arrest comes after a months-long investigation by Berks County Detectives into suspected drug trafficking in the area. Following the execution of a search warrant, law enforcement seized several illegal substances, including 735 grams of cocaine (valued at $36,750), 744 fentanyl pills (valued at $7,440), 24 grams of methamphetamine ($480), and 300 grams of marijuana ($1,500). Authorities also found over $20,000 in cash, drug paraphernalia, scales, and packaging materials.
Delacruz faces multiple charges, including possession with intent to deliver controlled substances and related offenses. He is currently being held on $100,000 bail and is presumed innocent until proven guilty. The investigation continues as authorities work to uncover more details about his alleged drug trafficking activities.
