Kadapa police arrested two individuals, Nimmakayala Venkata Sasidhar Reddy (38) and Shaik Jeelani (31), for their involvement in a car theft racket on Wednesday. Both are from the Nabikota area of Kadapa. The police recovered 37 stolen cars from their possession.
The duo had been renting cars from unsuspecting individuals, including travel operators, with promises of paying large sums of money. In some cases, Sasidhar had even posed as a government officer, convincing others that he would be renting the cars for government staff on official trips.
