LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A convicted felon was arrested in Lincoln on Monday after authorities discovered methamphetamine and firearms at his home.

The Lincoln Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force had been monitoring a house near Southwest 8th Street and Marcy Court, where 31-year-old Christopher Simpson and another man resided. Law enforcement determined that Simpson was involved in selling narcotics and was in possession of firearms.

Surveillance showed Simpson and the other man leaving the residence and heading to a supermarket near Southwest 16th and West A streets. Upon exiting the store, both were contacted by investigators.

A search of Simpson revealed $735, a straw with suspected meth residue, and a cellphone. A search of the second individual, identified as Smalls, yielded 1.4 grams of meth and $104. Further investigation uncovered multiple drug paraphernalia items in Simpson’s vehicle.

At Simpson’s residence, authorities found over 30 grams of meth, 4.1 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, a .357 Magnum, a 9mm handgun, ammunition, and additional drug paraphernalia. As a convicted felon, Simpson is prohibited from possessing firearms, making the discovery even more significant.

Simpson was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon, two counts of possession of a firearm during a felony drug violation, and one count of possessing money while in possession of a controlled substance. The other man, Smalls, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
