A routine traffic stop in Saltillo led to the arrest of 37-year-old Lonnie J. Stone, who was wanted on active warrants and found to be in possession of illegal drugs.
Sheriff Jim H. Johnson reported that the stop occurred on December 13 in the Saltillo area, where deputies pulled over a vehicle. During the stop, Stone, a passenger in the car, was arrested after authorities discovered he had active warrants for his arrest.
Further investigation revealed that Stone was carrying methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance. As a result, Stone has been charged with Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine).
His bond was set at $3,000 by a Justice Court Judge. The case remains under investigation as authorities continue their efforts to combat illegal drug activity in the area.
