On a recent traffic stop near West Main Street, the Florence Police Department arrested two individuals after discovering drugs and drug paraphernalia. The stop involved a black 2016 Chevrolet Silverado that had an improper equipment violation and a partially obstructed license plate.
The driver, Raymond Joseph Nichols, was found to have a suspended driver’s license. Upon further investigation, officers discovered a large bag of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana in his possession. Nichols was arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, and improper equipment.
A passenger in the vehicle, Stephanie Lynn Ford, was also arrested after officers found her in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. She faces misdemeanor charges for possession of a controlled substance and possession of paraphernalia.
Both suspects were taken to the Rankin County Detention Center where they will face charges. The Florence Police Department’s quick response and thorough investigation led to the successful arrest of both individuals and the confiscation of illicit substances.
