The Udaipur team of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) made significant progress in their crackdown on corruption, arresting Dr. Anshul Maththa, the District Tuberculosis Officer at Hathpole Maharana Bhupal Hospital Complex, and a broker, Samir Maththa, for accepting a bribe of Rs25,000.

The incident came to light after the ACB received a complaint from a concerned citizen, alleging that Dr. Maththa was demanding Rs30,000 to alter an audit report concerning the purchase of phenyl for the hospital. Upon receiving the complaint, the ACB team, led by Additional Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh, immediately verified the details and set up a trap to catch the accused in the act.

Dr. Maththa and broker Samir Maththa were arrested while accepting Rs25,000 from the complainant. This case highlights the ongoing issue of corruption within government healthcare systems, with the ACB’s efforts aiming to eliminate such malpractices in public service.

The arrested individuals are now facing legal action under the Prevention of Corruption Act, with further investigations ongoing.
