In a major breakthrough, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested four individuals linked to financial misconduct during the construction of the Maharana Pratap Khelgaon Cricket Stadium in Udaipur. Among the arrested are senior engineers and a contractor, whose actions led to irregularities in the project.

Dr. Ravi Prakash Meharda, Director General of the ACB, confirmed the arrests after extensive investigation, supported by evidence from various sources. These included reports from the FIR verification, technical committee findings, forensic analysis from FSL Jaipur, and quality control tests from the Public Works Department’s Udaipur laboratory.

The accused individuals, identified as Devesh Kumar Sharma, Vimal Kumar Mehta, Mukesh Jani, and Hemraj Vardar, were presented before the Special Court under the Prevention of Corruption Act in Udaipur. Following the hearing, the court ordered that all four be sent into judicial custody.

The case revolves around alleged corruption and financial mismanagement during the construction of the stadium. The ACB’s investigation uncovered serious lapses in construction practices, fund misappropriation, and violations of standard procedures. Reports from technical experts, forensic specialists, and quality control labs were instrumental in building the case against the accused.

Through meticulous documentation and record scrutiny, the ACB uncovered systemic corruption that led to financial losses and poor-quality construction. This action highlights the bureau’s commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in public projects.
