BALLSTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Valatie man was arrested on Friday after being accused of rape and violating a court order of protection. Shane Morris, 29, faces multiple charges following an investigation by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
According to deputies, they responded to a call on Westside Drive in Ballston at around 10:36 a.m. for an inactive sexual assault complaint. The investigation revealed that Morris allegedly engaged in forcible sexual contact with the victim, in addition to violating an existing order of protection.
Morris is also accused of placing the victim in fear of physical injury, serious physical injury, or even death by brandishing a baseball bat during the incident.
The charges against Morris include:
First-degree rape
First-degree criminal contempt
Second-degree menacing
Morris was arraigned in Malta Town Court and is currently being held in Saratoga County Jail without bail, bond, or partially-secured bond, pending further case action.
