Morgan Wallen Pleads Guilty to Reckless Endangerment, Receives Jail Sentence
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) – Country music star Morgan Wallen has reached a plea agreement for an incident that took place in April, where he threw a chair off the top of a Broadway bar. On Thursday, Wallen appeared in a Davidson County courtroom and pled guilty to two misdemeanor charges of reckless endangerment.
As part of the plea deal, the 31-year-old singer was sentenced to serve seven days at a DUI rehabilitation center. This marked his first court appearance regarding the charges stemming from his arrest on April 7.
Wallen was taken into custody after he was seen tossing a chair from the upper level of Eric Church’s bar, Chief’s, during its opening weekend. The chair reportedly landed just a few feet away from two Metro Nashville Police Department officers who were patrolling the area on foot.
Initially, Wallen faced three felony charges of reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct. He was released from jail after posting a bond of $15,250.
If Wallen successfully completes his sentence and fulfills all the conditions of the plea deal, his criminal record will be expunged.
