Amy Slaton Halterman of “1000-lb Sisters” Sentenced After Drug Arrest at Tennessee Safari Park

Crockett County, Tenn. (WMC/Gray News) – Reality TV star Amy Slaton Halterman, known for her role on TLC’s “1000-lb Sisters,” has been sentenced after pleading guilty to drug-related charges following an arrest at Tennessee Safari Park in September.

On Thursday, Halterman appeared in Crockett County court, where she and co-defendant Brian Scott Lovvorn both pleaded guilty to charges of drug possession. They were sentenced to two years of supervised probation for possessing Schedule I and Schedule VI substances.

As part of a plea agreement, their felony marijuana charge was downgraded to a misdemeanor, and the two child neglect charges against them were dropped. Both defendants were also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine each, in addition to court costs.

The arrest occurred after Halterman told deputies she had been bitten by a camel at the safari park. Upon approaching her vehicle, officers were allegedly overwhelmed by a strong odor, prompting a search. Authorities reportedly discovered two ounces of marijuana and what they suspected to be mushrooms in the car. Two children under the age of 10 were present during the search.

Halterman and Lovvorn were taken into custody but released on a $10,000 bond. Halterman had initially pleaded not guilty to the charges but ultimately accepted the plea deal.

In addition to probation, both Halterman and Lovvorn have been banned from Tennessee Safari Park.
