Wichita Man Arrested for Murder of James Gibson in Deadly Shooting
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Jeremy Tyshawn Miles, 26, of Wichita, has been arrested in connection with a deadly shooting that occurred on Wednesday, August 30. Miles faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, criminal possession of a firearm by a felon, assault, possession of marijuana, and a parole violation.
According to Sedgwick County booking records, Wichita police were called to an apartment unit in the 2100 block of South Seneca at approximately 10:46 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found 69-year-old James Gibson, who had suffered a gunshot wound. Despite efforts from emergency responders, Gibson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Miles was taken into custody shortly after the incident, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
