In a major drug bust, the Hyderabad Special Operations Team (SOT) seized 13 kg of ganja-laced chocolates from a local kirana store in Jagathgirigutta on Wednesday night. The operation was based on a tip-off that led police to raid the shop located at Ring Basthi in Jagathgirigutta.
The accused, Sunil Kumar, a native of Bihar, was arrested at the scene. Police revealed that Sunil Kumar had been sourcing the illegal chocolates from Bihar and selling them to local laborers in the area. The chocolates were disguised as regular confectionery, making it easier for the dealer to target vulnerable individuals.
The seizure of 13 kg of ganja-laced chocolates marks a significant blow to drug trafficking in the region, as authorities continue to crack down on illegal drug distribution networks. Sunil Kumar’s arrest highlights the growing use of everyday items like chocolates for smuggling drugs.
Further investigations are underway to track the source of the illegal drugs and identify any other individuals involved in the illicit trade.
