The Ahmedabad Crime Branch on Saturday arrested three advocates practicing at the sessions court for their involvement in a major scam. The accused are alleged to have forged appointment letters from the Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC), deceiving victims and amassing illicit proceeds totaling Rs 3.44 crore since 2022. Along with the advocates, the police also arrested a driver who was involved in the operation.
According to the police, the arrests came after a victim lodged a complaint, leading to an investigation into six similar cases. The advocates—Jaldeep Bharat Tailor, Jitendrakumar Gandalal Prajapati, and Ankit Tribhovan Pandya—along with Hitesh Mahesh Sen, their driver, allegedly forged the appointment letters for various government positions. The criminals then demanded large sums of money in exchange for these fake documents, deceiving multiple victims over the past two years.
Police are now investigating the full extent of the fraud and have seized relevant documents from the accused.
