In a significant development in the Baba Siddique murder case, the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested Salmanbhai Iqbalbhai Vohra, a Gujarat resident, from Akola, Maharashtra, on Sunday. Vohra’s arrest brings the total number of arrests in the case to 25.
Vohra, a 66-year-old resident of Petlad in Anand district, Gujarat, was taken into custody with the help of local police in Akola, located around 565 kilometers from Mumbai. The official said that Vohra had been involved in the case by providing financial support to several of the accused, including Nareshkumar Singh, the brother of one of the arrested suspects, Gurmail Singh, as well as Rupesh Mohol and Harishkumar.
The NCP leader Baba Siddique was gunned down on October 12 near his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Bandra East’s Nirmal Nagar area. Vohra had opened a bank account earlier in May 2024 and used it to fund various individuals linked to the crime.
The Mumbai Crime Branch is continuing its investigation, piecing together the connections and motives behind the murder as more individuals are arrested in the case.
