In a chilling crime, Gajanan, along with his accomplice, has been arrested for murdering a Flipkart delivery agent over a Cash on Delivery (COD) iPhone purchase. The incident occurred on September 23 when Bharat Sahu, a delivery agent from Nishatganj, went to Gajanan’s house in Chinhat to deliver a Rs1.5 lakh iPhone.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Shashank Singh, after strangulating Bharat Sahu, the accused stuffed the delivery agent’s body into a sack and dumped it into the Indira Canal. The authorities have since been working to retrieve the body.
The investigation began when Bharat Sahu went missing, and his brother filed an FIR at Chinhat Police Station. The police tracked his phone’s last location and interrogated Akash, a friend of Sahu, who confessed to the crime and led police to the culprits.
Surveillance footage and CCTV evidence have further corroborated the police’s findings. Gajanan and his accomplice are currently in police custody, and further investigations are ongoing.
Apple iPhones, highly sought after in India for their premium value, are often targeted in such crimes involving COD payments. Authorities are working to ensure justice for Bharat Sahu and to address the rising incidents of violence linked to online shopping deliveries.
