Hammonton Police Officer Robert Zbikowski Charged with Stealing Drugs

Zbikowski, 45, faces charges after testing positive for methamphetamine.

HAMMONTON, N.J. (WPVI) — Hammonton Detective Sergeant Robert Zbikowski, 45, is facing multiple charges after allegedly stealing drugs from the police department’s evidence room. Zbikowski has been charged with second-degree misconduct, third-degree theft by unlawfully taking, and fourth-degree tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, among other offenses.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office revealed that Zbikowski, a 20-year veteran of the department, failed a drug test and tested positive for methamphetamine. Investigators say he tampered with and took narcotics, including methamphetamine and oxycodone, from the Hammonton Police Department’s evidence room.

The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit at 609-909-7666. Zbikowski’s actions have raised serious concerns about misconduct within the department, and law enforcement is committed to fully investigating the case.
