LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. (WAFF) – A 53-year-old man from Harvest, Jason Robinson, was arrested on drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop early Sunday morning.
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office reported that Robinson was pulled over on I-65 for having an expired tag. During the stop, deputies developed probable cause to search his vehicle. The search reportedly uncovered fentanyl, marijuana, and various drug paraphernalia.
Robinson was charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession of marijuana in the second degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Limestone County Jail, where he is being held on a $2,000 bond.
Limestone County Sheriff Joshua McLaughlin emphasized the department’s commitment to tackling the spread of fentanyl, a substance he said presents a significant danger to the community. “We will continue to aggressively pursue those who traffic and distribute fentanyl, a substance that poses an enormous risk to our families and loved ones,” McLaughlin said. He urged the public to come forward with any information about fentanyl dealers in the area. “Your tip could be the key to stopping the spread of this deadly drug and saving lives in our community.”
The investigation into Robinson’s arrest is ongoing.
