ATMORE, Ala. (WKRG) — A man from Walnut Hill, Florida, was arrested on drug and theft charges on December 8, 2024, according to the Atmore Police Department.
Rodney Showers, 54, was taken into custody after a shoplifting incident at Walmart. At approximately 5:25 p.m., officers were responding to another call when they observed Walmart Loss Prevention make contact with Showers, who was suspected of shoplifting.
Atmore Police officers assisted in recovering the stolen merchandise, and while searching Showers, they discovered a small amount of crack cocaine and a glass pipe with crack cocaine residue.
Showers was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and theft of property IV. He was transported to the Escambia County Detention Center in Brewton.
