Two men have been charged with the alleged murder of a man at a Mandurah home, located south of Perth, following an assault that occurred over the weekend.
According to the WA Police Force, officers responded to a call about an assault at a residence on Renison Drive in Greenfields, Mandurah, around 1:45 AM on Sunday. Upon arrival, they discovered a man in his 40s, later identified in court as Joshua Arthur Standring, suffering serious injuries.
Despite attempts by ambulance officers to revive him, Standring died from his injuries.
In Perth Magistrates Court, 51-year-old Ross Edward Weir and 54-year-old Shane Edward Peirce, both wearing white disposable jumpsuits and sporting long hair and beards, appeared to acknowledge the charges against them. They only spoke to confirm their names and understanding of the charges.
A woman in the courtroom became visibly distressed and left shortly after the second man’s name was called.
A homicide detective was present during the proceedings, and both men were remanded in custody. They are scheduled to reappear in court on October 30.
Additionally, a 48-year-old woman from Barragup has been charged in connection to the alleged murder and is set to appear in Perth Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Authorities are urging the public to contact Crime Stoppers if they have any dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage from the area around the time of the incident.
