Police in Rajasthan have seized nearly 1 kg of synthetic psychoactive drug MDMA, valued at around Rs 1 crore, and arrested an accused during an ongoing anti-drug drive, officials said on Tuesday.
The operation, conducted under “Operation Sankalp – Nasha Mukt Nagaur,” involved a joint team from Degana police station and a special district task force.
Acting on a tip-off, authorities raided a house in Khudi Kalan village and recovered 979.02 grams of MDMA, which was concealed inside a bag of chillies.
The accused, Shravanram Bishnoi (42), was arrested under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychoactive Substances (NDPS) Act. Another accused, Vineet Bishnoi of Merta Road, is currently absconding. Police said further investigation is underway to trace both forward and backward linkages in the drug network.
This seizure is part of ongoing efforts to crack down on synthetic drug distribution in the district.
