A Long Island teenager, Aidan Chun Loong Chan, has been arrested in connection with a $20,000 scam that targeted a resident in Wayne County, according to New York State Police.

Chan, 19, from Hicksville, has been charged with third-degree grand larceny.

Investigators said the case dates back to August 2025, when a resident from Williamson reported being defrauded by individuals posing as bank fraud representatives.

According to authorities, the victim was instructed to withdraw $20,000 in cash and hand it over to a person who arrived at her home.

Police identified Chan as the individual who collected the money. Officials say he later transferred the funds to another individual located downstate.

Chan was arrested on March 22 and arraigned in Wayne County CAP Court. The investigation remains ongoing.
