The Special Task Force (STF) in Patna has arrested Kundan, a man from the Digha area accused of running a gold scam. Authorities recovered six gold chains from his possession.
Police said Kundan would take orders from locals for gold jewelry by showing them genuine-looking gold samples. After collecting money, he would deliver fake items and vanish.
Kundan is currently under interrogation at the Digha police station. He had been circulating in the area for about a week, placing orders for jewelry without the local police being aware. The STF acted after receiving a tip-off, launching an operation to apprehend him.
In an official statement, the STF said, “Patna STF received information that Kundan was roaming in the Digha area intending to commit fraud. We cordoned off the area and successfully arrested him.”
During questioning, Kundan admitted to deceiving people by taking orders for jewelry, showing real-looking samples, collecting money, and handing over counterfeit gold items.
So far, six complaints have been filed against him at Digha police station, with other complaints reported across different police stations in Patna.
