A traffic stop in downtown Laredo led to the seizure of heroin and crack cocaine and the arrest of three individuals, according to the Webb County Sheriff’s Office.
On Thursday, March 19, at approximately 4:30 p.m., deputies observed a vehicle near the 2000 block of Mier Street being driven by a man with active warrants. The driver, identified as Angel Gutierrez, 37, was wanted for theft of property, burglary of a vehicle, and criminal mischief.
During the traffic stop, investigators found a plastic tube containing 10 foil packets with roughly 1.7 grams of heroin, two baggies holding about half a gram of crack cocaine, and five unused syringes. Gutierrez now faces a second-degree felony charge for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.
Two passengers in the vehicle—Margarito Urbina, 35, and Roberto Lerma, 36—also had active warrants for theft of property. All three were arrested and booked into the Webb County Jail.
