Three individuals, including a minor, were arrested on Monday for allegedly murdering their friend in a drunken altercation near Karumathampatti on Saturday night.
The arrested have been identified as Chote Lal Nag (23), Dinesh Nag (19), and a 15-year-old boy, all residents of West Singhbhum, Jharkhand. The victim, Narayan Hembram (33), also from Jharkhand, was found dead in a vacant plot near Kaniyur on Sunday.
Police revealed that the conflict stemmed from a marriage proposal: Chote Lal was interested in marrying a relative of Narayan, but Narayan refused. During the ensuing argument on Saturday, the trio allegedly stabbed him with a knife, leading to his death.
All three accused were produced before a court. The two adults, Chote Lal Nag and Dinesh Nag, were remanded in judicial custody, while the minor was sent to an observation home.
