A Keyser, West Virginia, man has been arrested following two separate investigations involving allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor and financial fraud, authorities said.

Jeremy Shingler, 35, was arrested on Friday, March 13, 2026, by troopers from the West Virginia State Police Keyser Detachment. He faces charges including soliciting a minor via computer, sexual abuse by a person in a position of trust, embezzlement, and fraudulent scheme.

Officials said the charges arose from two unrelated investigations. The first began after a concerned parent reported inappropriate electronic communications between Shingler and a juvenile. Investigators found sexually explicit messages and alleged inappropriate physical contact with the minor.

A separate investigation followed after Shingler’s employer reported suspected financial irregularities. Authorities determined that company funds had been fraudulently obtained through checks written to a fictitious company and unauthorized credit card transactions, totaling approximately $15,969 in confirmed losses.

Shingler was arraigned in Mineral County Magistrate Court and released after posting a $25,000 bond. The West Virginia State Police said the investigation is ongoing.
