ASSUMPTION PARISH, La. — A Labadieville man has been arrested on multiple felony child sex-crime charges following an investigation into alleged sexual abuse materials.
Garrett Russell Mollere, 33, was taken into custody Friday and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center. The investigation began after a referral from the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services regarding possible sexual abuse of a minor.
On March 6, detectives executed a search warrant at Mollere’s residence, seizing multiple electronic devices. Forensic analysis of the devices revealed a significant quantity of child sexual abuse materials, according to the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Mollere has been charged with:
36 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Materials Under the Age of 13
18 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Materials
3 counts of Possession of Unlawful Deepfakes
He remains in custody with a bond set at $1.5 million.
