In a major breakthrough against drug trafficking, Thane police apprehended two men in Ambernath on March 9 for possession of charas valued at approximately Rs 4.31 crore in the black market.
The accused have been identified as Harshal Patel, 19, and Sirajuddin Jalauddin Ahmed, 26. Authorities discovered the contraband neatly packed in 13 separate packets during the operation.
The arrests were made under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Officials stated that the seizure represents a significant step in dismantling the region’s illegal drug trade, and further investigation is ongoing to uncover the broader network behind the distribution.
Police have emphasized their commitment to tracking down all individuals connected to the syndicate and preventing the sale of illegal narcotics in the area.
