A man from Cleveland, Oswego County, New York was arrested following a grand larceny investigation tied to work in the Town of Verona, NY.

The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies received a complaint on December 15, 2025, after a victim said they paid a subcontractor $6,000 for two jobs and provided an Olympic-style diving board valued at $500 to be installed. No work was completed, and the diving board was never installed.

Investigators determined the total loss to the victim was $6,500. The suspect, Matthew Tanner, 44, was located on February 24, 2026, and charged with felony grand larceny.

Tanner was taken to the Oneida County Correctional Facility to await court proceedings and was later released on his own recognizance.
