Pune Airport Police have arrested Nikhileshwar Kshirsagar, CEO of a consultancy firm, along with two accomplices, for allegedly cheating 76 youngsters of Rs1.52 crore by promising them lucrative jobs but failing to pay salaries.
A 33-year-old victim from Pimple Nilakh lodged a complaint on Monday morning, prompting police action. Senior Inspector Govind Jadhav said the CEO was arrested from his Viman Nagar residence late Monday night. Kshirsagar is a resident of Amravati, where the firm’s head office is located.
The fraudulent activity took place between September 2025 and March 2026, with Kshirsagar operating his firm from a commercial building in Viman Nagar. According to the FIR, he promised individuals two months of professional training, collected fees for it, and assured them high-paying jobs in his firm.
After hiring the youngsters, Kshirsagar allegedly failed to pay their salaries. When victims demanded refunds and wages, he refused, citing a lack of assignments or new work. Police suspect that more victims may come forward.
Kshirsagar was produced before a city court, which remanded him to police custody until March 16. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are probing the full extent of the scam.
