Three people have been arrested in connection with the abduction and murder of farmer Manokant Shukla in the Gangaghat area of Unnao, police said. The body of the 52-year-old farmer was found near Singhupur after he was allegedly beaten and killed by the accused.
According to Shiv Dayal Shukla, son of the deceased, 7-8 people, including Vipin Singh and Chhotu Sanki, abducted his father from his home. The family alleged that Manokant was brutally beaten before being murdered.
The complaint was lodged by the deceased’s wife, Suman Shukla, at Gangaghat Police Station on March 9. Police arrested Vipin Singh, Chhotu Sanki, and another accused, Ajay, while the search for additional suspects is ongoing.
City CO Deepak Yadav stated that the investigation revealed a prior dispute between the deceased and the accused, which led to the abduction and murder. Legal proceedings have been initiated, and authorities are actively tracing other possible perpetrators.
Local representatives visited the post-mortem house to meet with the family and offer support following the incident.
