EUGENE, Ore. — A former employee of Gotcha Burger is facing serious charges after allegedly stealing payroll checks from the restaurant, according to the Eugene Police Department.

Officials say 32-year-old Forrest Jedidiah Barrios of Veneta cashed payroll checks to himself and was linked to multiple missing checks from the business. When confronted by the owner, Barrios denied involvement and left the restaurant.

A detective from the Eugene Police Property and Financial Crimes Unit investigated and gathered enough evidence to arrest Barrios on 11 counts, including identity theft, forgery, and first-degree theft.

Barrios was taken into custody on March 3 near West 6th Avenue and Adams Street and transported to Lane County Jail.
