Bhubaneswar: Police on Sunday arrested Bikash Ghadei (29), a resident of Patrapada, in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident near AIIMS Bhubaneswar on August 10. The incident resulted in the death of a man, whose brother, Shankar Sahu, filed the complaint.
The victim succumbed to his injuries at SCB Medical College, Cuttack, following the accident. Investigations revealed that the motorcycle involved in the collision had been sold to a second-hand showroom, which eventually led authorities to Ghadei.
Police reported that Ghadei confessed to the crime. The motorcycle used in the incident was seized as evidence. “Ghadei was produced in court, and further investigations are ongoing,” a police officer stated.
The arrest highlights the police’s prompt action in tracing vehicles involved in fatal road accidents and enforcing accountability in cases of reckless driving.
