The Excise Department Flying Squad, EI & EB Unit-1 has arrested a man for possession of heroin (brown sugar) in Bhubaneswar.
The accused, Sunil Das (28), a resident of Bharatpur, Bhubaneswar, was apprehended on Friday with 107 grams of heroin, valued at approximately Rs 10.7 lakh.
The seizure was carried out by a team led by Sub-Inspector S.K. Sakir, along with officers Amit Kumar Biswal, Karnna Oram, A.R. Mallik, Gouranga Nayak, Chandrakant Sahoo, Pabitra Kumar Dash, Padmini Naik, and Annapurna Gand.
Sunil Das has been booked under the NDPS Act, 1985 and sent to judicial custody. Officials noted that this action is part of ongoing efforts by the Excise Department to curb drug peddling in Odisha.
