NATCHEZ, Miss. — A Natchez woman has been arrested in connection with a credit card fraud investigation, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At approximately 9:24 a.m. on February 25, deputies conducted a traffic stop on West Stiers Lane and discovered that 29-year-old Mahalia Bruce had an outstanding warrant from the Adams County Justice Court.

The warrant relates to an incident reported on February 24, in which Bruce allegedly used another person’s credit card without consent to make purchases at Walmart and Sonic. She faces charges of credit card fraud and embezzlement involving agents, trustees, clerks, or other persons in a position of trust.

Bruce was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Adams County Jail, where she is being held pending her initial appearance before a judge.

The sheriff’s office emphasized that all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
