In a major human trafficking bust, Ranchi Railway Police rescued two underage girls, aged 13 and 16, who were being trafficked to Delhi under false job promises.
The girls, hailing from Simdega district, were intercepted during a train check when their inability to specify their destination raised suspicion. Further questioning led to the arrest of a woman identified as Reshma Devi, who was accompanying them.
Investigation revealed that Reshma Devi had previously trafficked other minors for domestic labor under the pretense of high-paying employment. She has been handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit for further legal action.
Sohan Lal, Sub-Inspector at Ranchi Railway Police Station, confirmed that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat human trafficking and protect vulnerable minors from exploitation.
